During recent painting lessons, I wanted to try something new. I decided to go for another self portrait, but at the start I didn’t really know how to give a fresh spin to it. So I just started, and every painting session colors started to get more intense.
During the different sessions, I got some good help from my teacher. Together with him (an inspired by Matisse), the painting turned into a Fauvistic direction. In the end, I looked like a ‘wild animal’ myself 😉 Painting in a Fauvistic style really is a great way to train your understanding of colors and how they work together. You can see the final version of my self portrait below. Also, you can take a look at some previous posts with self portrait ideas!
